FAQ

Cobra Pro – Professional Finish. Extreme Protection.

When results matter, Cobra Pro is the surface coating that delivers both performance and polish. Designed for tradies, detailers, and serious DIYers, Cobra Pro provides a high-gloss or matte finish with elite protection that holds up to Australia’s toughest conditions.

Key Benefits

  • Extreme resistance to scratches, chips, impacts, abrasions & UV

  • Customisable finish – high gloss or matte (with optional matting agent)

  • Compatible with spray guns, Schultz guns or rollers

  • Delivers a sleek, automotive-style finish with proper prep

What’s Included

  • 1 x 600ml Cobra Bedliner Superior Tintable Base

  • 1 x 200ml Cobra Superior Hardener

  • 1 x Cobra Superior Spray Gun

💡 To customise your colour, mix with a solvent-based automotive tint.

Tinting it:

The golden rule: pigment goes in the base FIRST, hardener second. Once the hardener is in, you can't re-tint it.

Steps

  1. Use the right pigment. Standard automotive 2K urethane tinting paste/pigment only (Novol's Spectral 2K or Spectral Base 2.0 pastes are the matched ones). Household paint, water-based tints or craft pigments will wreck the adhesion and durability.
  2. Work out how much. Pigment is 10–15% of the tintable base — 15% is the hard ceiling. For the 800 ml kit (600 ml base + 200 ml hardener), that's roughly 60–90 ml of pigment into the 600 ml base.
  3. Add it gradually — start at the low end, stir 1–2 minutes until the colour is completely even, then check it on a bit of card. Expect the cured colour to come out a bit lighter than the pigment chip.
  4. Then add hardener at 3:1 (3 parts tinted base to 1 part hardener) and mix again.
  5. Thin only for texture, with acrylic thinner: 0% for a coarse finish, up to ~5% for moderate, 25–30% for a fine finish.
  6. Pot life is about 60 minutes at 20 °C, so only mix what you'll spray or roll in that window.
